Update from the Working for Carers, Carers Charter Event. You said, we did.
Greater Manchester Carers Charter demonstrates a commitment to transform how carers are supported. In June 2018 Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre invited carers within Wigan borough to come along to the Working for Carers, Carers Charter Event to find out about the Carers Charter and what it means for them. During the event, carers were asked to participate and feedback on their experiences around four of the Carers Charter topics below:
1) Early identification of carers to include getting help at the right time.
2) Improving health and well being.
3) Carers as expert partners.
4) What are your experiences/aspirations regarding employment/education?
All of the information was collated and will be fed into the Carers Charter Forum and be instrumental in shaping the Carers Strategy.
Employing a Personal Assistant
At the Working For Carers, Carers Charter event, Carers stated that it was hard to find a Personal Assistant (P.A.) and know how to access support.
In response to that, Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre agreed to display links on the website to Embrace’s Personal Assistant Information
Here you will find lots of information and support on how to recruit a P.A, writing a Person-Centred Job Advert, advertising the post, short listing and interviewing.
If you are disabled, you may be entitled to a Blue Badge permit
