Communications & Digital Media Officer

Wigan & Leigh Carers Centre

17.5 hours a week (flexible working arrangements)

Salary circa £22,000 pro rata depending on experience

Are you the Communications & Digital Media Officer we are looking for?

Maybe you are already in this role and are looking for a change. Or perhaps you are a communications graduate ready to start your career?

Are you a creative thinker with a sharp eye for detail that loves storytelling and creating content?  Capable of developing and producing articles across a wide range of formats, channels and to a broad range of external audiences, including social media, web and print.

You will be a confident copywriter who can produce press releases and transform reports and personal stories into inspirational case studies. Are you ready to embrace new platforms and information delivery?

With strong time management and organisational skills, you’ll work well under pressure and thrive on challenges and problem solving.

You’ll be joining an exciting organisation with plenty of scope to develop and grow your skills across multiple areas of communications. No two days are ever the same and reporting directly to the Chief Officer, you will gain broad communications experience and develop your skills and expertise.

Chief Officer, Wigan & Leigh Carers Centre

Salary £34,788 – £37,849

Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre is the leading provider of support services to carers in Wigan and Leigh. Our mission is to be a recognised centre of excellence in the provision of information, training and support for carers both to improve their quality of life and give them a voice.

 

The Role:

We are seeking an innovative, passionate, inspirational Chief Officer with the determination to make a positive difference to the lives of carers. Someone who understands carers as individuals with diverse talents and needs. You will be committed to fairness and equality as a service provider, employer and partner and open to beneficial partnerships and collaboration with individuals and organisations across the Greater Manchester City Region.

 

Ideal Candidate: 

  • Senior leadership experience in public or not for profit setting with a diverse staff group.
  • Track record of managing change and building organisational resilience.
  • Experience in income generation and fundraising as well as managing budgets.
  • Capability to work in partnership with multiple voluntary/ statutory organisations.
  • Ability to lead local voluntary sector consortia to deliver quality services, addressing any issues that may arise regarding performance and delivery.
  • Excellent understanding of key challenges facing social care & health providers, the local voluntary sector and the value of diversity.
