I started working at Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre in August 2014 as a Carers Support Advocacy Worker. My role is to provide information, support and empathy to carers, and also to help identify hidden carers. I offer emotional and practical support in the form of one to one support enabling carers to look after themselves and continue in their caring role. I co-facilitate the Carers Friendships Group- For Parent Carers of Adult Children which meets at the centre once a month and provides invaluable peer to peer support. You can also find me on our monthly outreaches at Ashton library and Shevington library, so please come and say hello.
