Despite this, being a carer can be difficult as it impacts upon several areas of your life. Carers tell us that talking to someone who understands the caring role and having relevant up-to-date information is crucial. This is why carers support is so important. Talking about your feelings and gaining support is important when it comes to managing your stress levels.
Our Carer Support Advocacy Workers can assist you in a number of ways to help you in your caring role.
By offering an empathetic and supportive listening ear to help you through the difficulties you may be experiencing.
Information, guidance and signposting
We can provide information about your rights as a carer and guide you through the Carer Assessment process, provide information on support that is appropriate to your caring role and the person you care for, signpost you to relevant organisations in the community.
Advocacy – By providing short-term advocacy support we can help to ensure your voice is heard and empower you to get the services that will support you in your caring role.
